DEIA TOWNHOUSE

When taking on this project, I sincerely did not know what I was putting myself into.

After months of redesigning the 3-story house and a couple of back and forth with the architect, we finally got the planning permission to start the works. Note that in Spain everything is “Manana” in Mallorca it is “ Despues de Manana” (after tomorrow maybe).

The entire house was redesigned and uplifted and this took time to have all the changes approved: 4 openings were being created in the living room, that was previously used as the master bedroom with an on-suit bathroom. Small windows for the new bathrooms and an independent access to the garden area was created by redesigning the entire ground floor. A beautiful window in the lounge, coming up the stairs, was created, that would now unable you to cook while looking at the sea. Not forgetting the extension on top of the garage, in the front of the house, in order to create a dining space and balcony.

After gutting the place and stripping it back to its shell, the longest and most tedious part of the job was to make sure all the extensions and openings were spot on and all electrical outlets were correct, as the interior decorating depended on this. All spaces and corners were meticulously thought of and utilised, and the facade of the house uplifted.

Hard work, scrap yard searching, designing all the doors, windows and shutters, custom making all the beds, drawing the perfect kitchen , with a little delay and a little over budget, because of the pool, I am so proud of the result of this town house in a small town of Mallorca.
